Alliance Evangelical Church in Jerusalem held a workshop entitled “To Live Free” at the end of last week. The workshop focused on training people to avoid and overcome the struggles and problems that control their lives. One of the greatest problems faced today is the battle against addiction. This comes in many forms and can take over and ruin a person’s life. The apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 6: 12 "Everything is permissible for me"—but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible for me"—but I will not be mastered by anything.
The need for personal conflict resolution in the area of addiction was so evident that the Alliance Church felt the need to train groups of believers to enable them to help others struggling with addictions such as alcohol, drug addiction, smoking, pornography and other difficult behaviors.
More than thirty members of the church signed up to receive the training, which was translated into Arabic from the original material by Jimmy Ray Lee and Dan Strickland, authors of numerous training materials. The members were introduced to the View Group Videos on training topics and testimonies from others who had been freed from addictions.
Rev Jack Sara, Pastor of Alliance Church and Rev Mazen Nasraoui, Assistant Pastor oversaw the workshop. They strongly believe that this workshop is important for all believers who wish to live their lives free from any addictive behaviors.
