The Fellowship of Christian Students in Israel held a conference at the Haddad Resort in Jeneen, West Bank from September 29 – October 2, with around 60 students attending from different colleges and universities in the country.
The conference title was “Spiritual Growth” which encouraged growth through lessons entitled “Life of Praise and Worship” “Prayer and the Word” and “Hardships and Trials.” The main speaker was Pastor Khaled Dalle, leader of the Evangelical Baptist Church in Kfar Yaseef.

The first day began with an introductory meeting. During the evening meeting, Pastor Khaled introduced the theme of spiritual perseverance by sharing about the “Hardship in Gethsemane” and how to use hardship for personal growth.
During the second day morning meeting, Pastor Khaled shared how God can use the trials we face for our spiritual growth, mentioning Job’s trial of faith. He highlighted three things we need to do in the midst of a trial: 1. Resist 2. Remain Steady 3. Flee

Pastor Khaled focused on fleeing from temptation like lust and the love of money. The evening session was about steadiness and growth in God’s word, sharing about the effect of God’s word and its impact in different areas of our lives.
Between sessions there were prayer groups that focused on evangelism tools for students to utilize in universities. There was also a time of prayer for protection of the believers and local churches, followed by workshops for the attendees, who wrote a gospel track introducing fellow students to Jesus Christ.

The third day session was entitled “Thanksgiving in the Midst of Hardships”, and focused on the exit that God gave for Joseph and the blessing that was given to the house of Potiphar through Joseph.
The evening session included praise and worship, bible readings, personal testimonies of God’s work in the lives of some students, followed by a short message shared by Brother Pierre Tanous about Jesus’ prayer in John 17:20-26, indicating the unity in Christ.

Pastor Khaled shared on the last day about the importance of worship in spiritual growth through the heart, mind and soul. The conference included some workshops and morning devotions and recreation time at the resort.
The conference ended with a student evaluation time about the conference.
