Nazareth- Linga

A training conference for women in ministry was held in Nazareth on Wednesday, November 17, 2010. The event was sponsored by the Evangelical Council in Israel and Light for all Nations ministry and was coordinated by Rose Obeid.

Pastor Andrew Abu Ghazalah and Pastor Nizar Shaheen were the two featured key note speakers. More than 80 women attended from all over the country, even as far as the West Bank.
The gathering began at 9:30 AM at the Nazarene Church in Nazareth. Pastor Nizar Touma, leader of the Nazarene Church, opened the meeting with a word of welcome and a prayer of blessing.

Rose Obeid, event coordinator, shared a small devotion about the women as champions of faith. She introduced Daaed Odeh, the Women’s Ministry Coordinator of the Association of Baptist Churches in Israel (ABC), who shared a word of encouragement and a prayer. Afterward, the Nazarene Church worship team led a time of praise and worship.

The training was in three phases:

1. Pastor Nizar Shaheen taught about the integrity in the life of a servant, using as an example the life of Joseph from Genesis 39.
2. Pastor Andrew Abu Ghazalah taught about the divine transformation in the life of a servant, using the life of the Apostle Paul from Acts 9.
3. Pastor Andrew ended the teaching about the heart’s direction of every servant.
The training ended with an altar call of prayer for the women.

Lunch was served after the time of training and Pastor Shaheen, director of Light for all Nations, expressed his sincere thanks to the Nazarene Church and Pastor Touma for their hospitality. He also thanked all the attendees for their welcoming hearts and their joy.

Rose Obeid said, “The conference was such a blessing, the teaching was anointed by the power of God’s spirit and its impact is obvious in the life of every woman.” She gave all the glory to Jesus, saying “I am so happy to see healing, deliverance and breakthrough in the lives of these women for ministry. I pray that God will raise a mighty army of women as champions for him serving with their whole hearts and that God will use them with signs and wonders.”
