Linga - Nazareth
The Bible House ministry in Nazareth hosted a Christmas gathering for women at the Nazareth Hospital on Saturday, December 11, 2010. Women from across the country and representing numerous Christian denominations were in attendance.
Dina Katanacho, director of the Bible House, opened the meeting with a word of welcome and introduced the vision of the Bible House, a non-denominational ministry dedicated to reaching everyone with the word of God. She asked everyone to stand for opening prayer and welcomed Alpha Team to lead in a time of Christmas themed worship.
A candle light ceremony followed the time of worship and featured personal devotions from four women of different churches: Afeefa Awad, Haneen Obeid, Vivian Boulos and Sana Espanioly. All four women focused on the fact that the Word of God joins all together as one body, despite differing denominations.
Following the devotions, a praise team performed a praise dance led by Howayda Yamini to the song “Mary Did You Know” and performed by Petra Hanna, Tarnim Yamini, Hiba Sadran and Yara Daaem.
Daaed Odeh, Women’s Coordinator for the Association of Baptist Churches shared a poem entitled “What is Love?” Dina Katanacho shared an exposition on the role of women, beginning from the time of creation when God created unique roles for men and women. She highlighted the role of women from Proverbs 31 and their importance in building the family, society, church and teaching the word of God.
At the end of her message, Mrs. Katanacho introduced the Bible House’s newest publication; a magazine entitled “Hamasat (whispers) from Creator to Family.” The new publication explores several important topics in the lives of families, especially as it relates to Arab women as they express their faith in family matters. She gave thanks to all who contributed to its publication.
The gathering concluded with the song “Glory in the Highest” and a breakfast fellowship. All attendees received a copy of the magazine.
