Bethlehem's Holy Land Christian Ecumenical Foundation will host a Christmas-tree decorating contest for Palestinian communities across the West Bank in an effort to encourage community participation in holiday traditions.
Contestants must design and implement a large-scale Christmas tree exhibit completed by the children of the community and ready for presentation by Dec. 17.
The judges, a committee put together by the foundation, will travel to each parish, city and institution that announced its participation.
Organizers said they hoped it would "provide a fun and exciting means of cooperation and communication between the various parishes of the Holy Land, however most importantly it will encourage a much needed atmosphere of connectedness between them."
