Linga- Nazareth

Nazareth Evangelical Theological Seminary (NETS) announces its sabbatical study month for October 2011.  NETS " Come and See " sabbatical programme is a biblically-based and theologically serious reading programme shaped by participants' choices about their preferred level of study alongside time for pilgrimage and personal space. Options may include The Biblical and post-biblical History of Israel and Palestine, Theologies of the Land (including Christian, Jewish and Muslim perspectives), The Hermeneutics of the Land, (a study of biblical interpretation from within the Holy Land), Introduction to Islam (or Judaism), and Introduction to Social Justice and Peace Issues in the Middle East.

Participants will receive weekly seminars, staff support and access to the NETS library for personal study. In addition, there will be opportunities to meet with members of the Arab and Jewish communities and hear their own stories about faith and life in modern Israel. Finally, there will be days for guided tours and personal space for meditation and relaxation. Participants are welcome with or without a background in theology and NETS staff will be happy to supervise learning programmes from basic introductions to post-graduate levels of study.

NETS is offering a complete package including return flights from Luton Airport to Tel Aviv, transfer to and from Ben Gurion Airport, bed, breakfast and evening meals, and all costs for advertised tourist visits. These will include sites around the Sea of Galilee and northern Israel, and there will be an optional extra of a four day visit to Jerusalem for a guided tour staying in guest house or hotel accommodation. A tourist visit to Israel for 8-10 days now costs upwards of £1500 ($2000). NETS offers this four week programme at the inclusive cost of £2500 ($3250) per person, flying from London Luton airport, with an additional £500 ($625) for the Jerusalem option.

Accommodation is in a spa guesthouse, all rooms ensuite.  The guesthose is situated on the outskirts of Nazareth and has an open air swimming pool, gym, jacuzzi and sauna.  Perfect for times of relaxation!

Ten places only are available for next October, so it is advisable to make an early enquiry. Further information is available from angela.hill@nazarethseminary.org.
