Eilaboun- Linga

On Saturday, March 19th Light for All Nations ministry hosted a Mother’s Day celebration at Abu Zied Hall in Eilaboun. Over 1200 women were in attendance.

The gathering began with welcoming words by Rose Obeid, Women’s Ministry Coordinator for Light for All Nations. She introduced Pastor Nizar Shaheen, Director of Light for All Nations; Khaled Dalle, leader of the Lord is My Banner praise team from Kfar Yaseef; and Shamaa, a well-known singer from Morocco.

A prayer was offered by Raeda Daaem and a poem entitled “I Am a Woman” was read by Daaed Dalli. This was followed by a time of testimony from Shamaa and her performance of one of her well-known Christian songs.
Worship was led by the Lord is My Banner team and a Mother’s Day devotion was offered by Father Jack Karam who also led the women in singing a song calling on God’s spirit to work in their midst. Father Jack also shared how he came to know Pastor Nizar and how they currently minister together.

Rose Obeid gave a brief devotion on the Shunamite woman (2 Kings 4) who was a woman of great faith and deserving of recognition despite the fact that her real name is never mentioned. Mrs. Obeid emphasized the woman’s spirit of wisdom, service, humility, prayer, obedience and submission.

After worship through music, Pastor Nizar shared a sermon from the book of Genesis about the character of Hagar. Although her life was full of rejection and poor choices, God revealed Himself to her during a period of great personal trial. Hagar called Him ‘the One who sees me’ and was used by God to become the mother of nations.
At the end of the sermon an altar call was given and hundreds of women came to the front for a time of prayer and testimony.

Following the altar call, lunch was served and ministers’ wives were invited to the front to cut a celebration cake. Rose Obeid concluded the event with special thanks to all involved in the celebration.
