Linga – Nes Amim

12/4/2011

The Association of Baptist Churches in Israel (ABC) held an inaugural meeting of mothers and children at the village of Nes Anim. Around 70 women and children attended the event, coming from many towns and villages near the Galilee.
The event was coordinated by Eman Hanna, Children’s Ministry Coordinator and Daed Odeh, Women’s Ministry Coordinator of the ABC.

The idea to join children and mothers in one dedicated event came as the result of many women desiring a time to join with their kids in an emotionally and spiritually enriching event.

Pastor Khaled Dalle, Vice Chairman of the ABC, attended the gathering and encouraged the idea, urging the development of additional, similar events. Mothers play such a vital role in the spiritual growth of the family that such events should become regular, Pastor Khaled stressed. He offered a prayer during the gathering that was followed by a praise and worship time led by vocalist Amal Matar.

The mothers were split into three groups for sessions:

Spiritual relations with my children – led by Eman Hanna
The unique youth, sexual education – led by Kamilia Anton
Me, Motherhood and the Lord my Healer – led by Andera Hanna

A special program for the children was held during these sessions that focused on relationship building activities and Easter art.

A mutual recreation time with the children and mothers was held that included a festive Easter egg hunt.
Daed Odeh finished the program by exhorting each mother to return home and share something that she loves with her son/daughter to bless his/her life.
