Banias- Linga

Light for all Nations ministry, led by Pastor Nizar Shaheen, hosted a bible study field trip to Banias (Caesarea Philippi) on Saturday, May 21.

The trip was intended as a follow-up trip for many of the women who received Christ at the Mother’s Day celebration in March. The invitation was open for men and other members of their families as well.

Before hiking to the Banias area, Pastor Nizar presented a historical background on Caesarea Philippi with its strategic geographical location. The site is considered one of the main water resources in Israel.

He shared from the gospel of Matthew, chapter 16 about Peter’s declaration to Christ: “You are the Son of the Living God” and the theological truth of Christ as the Son of God. He followed with a segment on the church and its work in the community.

Pastor Nizar led the group on the hike to the Banias, explaining more about the background and the people who lived in the area. During stops along the way, people shared their testimonies with one another.

The trip ended with a group lunch followed by another brief devotion from Pastor Nizar and a prayer for blessing and healing. The group left rejoicing in the time of fellowship and bible study.
