The Good shepherd Baptist church in Nazareth hosted on Saturday 3.3.2012, the monthly leaders breakfast meeting under the auspice of the evangelical churches convention in Israel. After the breakfast and fellowship, Pastor Nizar Touma led alongside Ibrahim Bishara a time of praise and worship.
Pastor Afif Saba leader of the shepherd Baptist church shared a brief history about the church and its vision to reach out more people with the Gospel in its surrounding neighborhoods. Then he shared a short devotion taken from 2 Corinthians 8 about the giving heart of the church in Macedonia and how much we need to focus reaching out the needy , widows, orphans of our community.
Pastor Ken Koontz from the United States shared an encouraging devotion to the leaders from the third chapter of Matthew, as he spoke about the challenges and difficulties that some of the leaders’ today experience, and how can they gain spiritual strength from the Lord to continue serving Him through acknowledging their identity in Christ.
After this devotional period there were some announcements that began with Brother Kamil Daw sharing about the publishing of a special book for mothers that contains encouraging devotions and poetry with inspiring artistic paintings and towards the end he presented this book as a gift for each leader.
Pastor Hanna Katanacho announced also about him issuing two new books: the first “King of Peace”, that is intended for teaching children a culture of peace; the second book in English entitled “The Land of Christ, a Palestinian Call” a book that addresses the harsh realities on the ground in twenty-first century Israel/Palestine and sheds light on many questions and concerns on both sides of the Arab-Israeli conflict.
Brother Aziz Daaem chairman of the Evangelical convention mentioned towards the end about the annual general meeting of the convention that will be held in 21.4.2012 at the Nazareth Baptist School.
The meeting ended with a time of prayer for each other and for the ministries in the country.
