Senior Pastor of Northland Church in Orlando Florida Dr. Joel Hunter preached at the Sunday worship service of Local Baptist Church in Nazareth.

Dr. Hunter was accompanied by his wife Becky, Rabbi Yehiel Poupko (Judaic Scholar at the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago) and Dr. John E. (Jay) Phelan, Jr (president and dean of North Park. Theological Seminary).

Dr. Hunter shared from John 6 about the Loaves and fishes passage, emphasizing the need to put what we have in the hands of the Lord.

Northland Church is one of the top 50 influential churches in the United States with around 15,000 members. Dr Hunter is a known Christian leader around the world and is serving as a board member of the evangelical world alliance, which includes more than 600 million evangelicals.

Pastor Hunter is known for his service in building bridges of relations with non-Christians and interested in helping the Palestinian Christians; he has been appointed a member of the spiritual advisors to U.S. President Barack Obama and has prayed for him on his inauguration as President of the United States.

Pastor Hunter had visited the country for the first time in 2008 when he was the main speaker at Back to Jerusalem conference and will be one of the speakers at Christ at the Checkpoint conference which will be held next week in the city of Bethlehem.

Pastor Hunter shared with Linga’s site in an interview that is very happy at being back in the country and that he would do all he could in supporting the local church.

Pastor Hunter will meet a number of officials in the Israeli government, including Minister of Foreign Affairs.
