Linga- Eilaboun
More than 900 Arab Israeli and Palestinian women gathered on March 17, 2012 for the annual Mother’s Day Celebration at Abu Zeid hall in Eilaboun. The event, sponsored by Grace Ministry, included a day of praise and worship, evangelical messages and testimonies and concluded with a meal.
The celebration began with an opening statement by Rose Obeid, the program coordinator. Mrs. Obeid shared a brief poem about the meaning of motherhood and the biblical example set forth in the book of Proverbs. She then provided introductions for the praise team and key note speaker and continued with a brief devotion from the Song of Solomon on the importance of the role women play in the spiritual lives of their households.
A short clip featuring interviews with previous Mother’s Day attendees was prepared by Ehab Obeid and Eman Hanna and shown following the devotion. Special testimonies and music were provided by Dina Katanacho, Fadwa Hanna “Im Salim” and “Im Khaled Dalle.”.
Praise and worship was led by “The Lord is My Banner” worship team, under the direction of Pastor Khaled Dalle. Key note speaker was Pastor Andrew Abu Ghazaleh, who spoke about “A Mother’s Heart.” He emphasized the impact that mothers have on their children and the emotional journey women experience as they raise families. He invited the women to entrust their hearts to Jesus Christ, who alone can provide the healing and fulfillment that each woman desires.
After the message, Pastor Abu Ghazaleh encouraged the women to come forward and receive prayer, and then led everyone in a time of prayer and thanksgiving.
The event ended with a meal and a special cake.
