Linga- Nazareth
The global day of prayer for women was held at the Nazareth Hospital on Wednesday, 14/3/2012, Global Day of Prayer is an annual service for Women from all Christian denominations. This year the men were invited to unite together for prayer.
The service was attended by women and men from all Christian denominations in Nazareth and the judiciary. The focal prayers were this year for the State of Malaysia, entitled Let Justice prevails.
Pastor Suheil Bathish – The Nazareth Hospital chaplain opened the service with a word of prayer, followed by a reading of a letter by Wajeeha Rezek Shorosh (wife of Rev. Fouad Shorosh), which is a former member of the Commission on Global Day of Prayer and lives today in the U.S, she expressed in her letter with glee for the continued service of this day for many years, and ended her letter with an encouraging verse “ confident of this very thing that the one who began a good work in you to complete the day of Jesus Christ.”
The attendees had a time to pray for justice in the world and Malaysia in particular. Violet Khoury, director of the Sabeel Center in Nazareth shared a word about God's justice, and motivated the audience to contribute to the achievement of justice according to the word of the Lord.
The Day of Prayer service’s offering was presented to the Nazareth Hospital in particular for the opening of the new cardiac catheterization unit in Nazareth to be opened this year.
