Linga- Nazareth

The annual general meeting of the evangelical churches convention in Israel was held today Saturday 04/21/2012  at the Baptist School in Nazareth, in the presence of delegates of Churches and Christian organizations as the number of participants reached to 55 people, including 45 delegates from the 58 delegates.

The meeting was opened by Pastor Nizar Touma welcoming the attendees and lifted the meeting in prayer; then led the audience through a period of worship. Fouad Haddad shared a devotion entitled "Unity in Diversity," pointing out that the unity is the bond which leads to live in peace and with the consent of various parties. He said that the convention members join different ministries, but they are working together in harmony and in conclusion of his devotion mentioned that "Unity is in the Lord Jesus."

Pastor Nabil Samara shared a presentation about the churches and organizations members of the convention, followed by Botrus Mansour, Director of the Baptist School in Nazareth, presenting the ministry of the school with an explanation of its long history. Pastor Hanna Katanasho in his turn read to confirm the names of appointed delegates by churches and organizations registered in the convention.

Aziz Daaem, chairman of the convention presented a report of the previous year highlighting things that the convention has done: "We have had an important period of time in building the foundations of the convention and its goals; revising the constitution that has been updated twice to a fair constitution with a clear strategy." He talked more about the subject of recognition, and asked the new Council to follow up this important subject to be a priority in the coming year.  Munther Noam shared some clarifications on the subject of recognition.

Salim Hanna made some announcements about upcoming events such as: a training day on how to reach out non-Christians on 28.4.2012, Back to Jerusalem Conference to be held from 2nd till 4th of July, Global Day of Prayer on May 27th to be held at Golden Crown Hotel in Nazareth. Ehab Oleimi alongside with Pastor Ehab Ashkar presented the convention’s budget for next year, which was followed by voting and unanimous approval.

An election of four new members of the convention board was held to replace brothers who ended their service period; there was eight nominees and after a vote of all present delegates, the elected members were: Pastor Azar Ajaj , Pierre Tannous , Salim Hanna and Rajai Samawei.

The convention also voted and accepted Linga- Christian Services in the Holy Land ministry as a full member in the convention, and Yosef A. Director of Linga ministry shared about its vision and goals.

Kamil Daw Director of Kmedia ministry shared brief words about the ministry and asked the convention to receive the ministry as a friend of it.

The meeting ended as the attendees sang the song “all the peoples of the earth shout to the Lord", Pastor Khaled Dalle lifted in prayer all the decisions taken, before God, so that the success comes from the Lord.
