Linga- Nazareth
Many virtuous women met together at the Bible Society’s center in Nazareth for the monthly women ministers’ breakfast on Saturday April 13, 2013. Women attended from various places such as Bethlehem, Haifa, Nazareth, Shefamer,Turan and others.
Following breakfast, Dina Katanacho, Director of the Bible Society, started with a word of prayer, as she asked God’s blessing on the meeting and that He would use the talents of all the women for building the church. She reminded the ladies of the song: “You deserve the glory” which reminds us nowadays of Christ’s suffering and death on our behalf.
Dina later called ‘Im Rayeq ‘ to share her experience that happened 9 years ago when she went through and severe torture to the extent that all doctors lost all hope that she might be well again. The Lord appeared to her in a dream, comforted her, strengthened her and healed her, as He touched her miraculously which amazed her doctor who said that this was definitely a miracle.
The honour guest speaker of the meeting was Salwa Salman, wife of Pastor Nihad Salman of Emmanuel Evangelical church in Bethlehem. Her message blessed the hearts of women, it was simple yet profound. She talked about her experience and her love to the Lord who enabled her to work faithfully along with husband and the women of the church at the beginning of the nineties. The word that she received from the Lord back then was from the book of Jeremiah that was a message of an encouragement. She said that the secret to any successful ministry is to be faithful to the Lord who looks at the heart. Every person, therefore, should love the Lord from all their hearts according to 2 Chronicles 16: 9.
She also said that God calls his daughters so that they might become soldiers in the spiritual work that they do despite the difficult circumstances whether political or financial or social or in light of the immigration of many Christians who are leaving the country.
Salwa continued to encourage the ladies with the passage from Ephesians chapter 6. She talked about putting on the full armour of God and she emphasised on the word “full”. God is able to help his children because He is the God of all compensation and able to fulfil all their needs. She asked the women to encourage and help one another with a word of prayer or a smile or stretching a hand of help at all times. This is precisely the work that she does with the women of her church through her group “Daughters of the King” princesses, beloveds and called to life and joy.
Towards the end of the meeting, the women prayed together for the ministry of Salwa, and Dina distributed the fifth edition of Whispers (hamasat) magazine. It is a magazine published by the Bible society and many local women take part in contributing in it.
