Linga- Kafer Yasif

The Evangelical  Episcopal Saviour Church in Kafer Yasif held a celebration on Wednesday evening in the square outside the church. The festival was given the name “You have a place.” More than two thousand people from the inhabitants of the city and the neighbouring towns attended this big event. It was a scene rarely witnessed as to the number of attendance, the uniqueness of the program, the organisation and the preparations by the corporate efforts of the church members and their pastor Bilal Habibi.

The meeting started by showing video clips from the program “You have a place” in 2011 where Pastor Bilal Habibi, the church’s pastor is featured saying in the first shot: “You have a place in our hearts because God so loved the world that He gave His only son (John 3:16). There were also clips  songs and plays shown from the celebration that took place in 2011.

Afterwards Pastor Bilal Habibi welcomed the attendance and told everyone that they “have a place in God’s heart.” He welcomed all those who attended from different backgrounds and denominations, asking the Lord that the celebration would be a blessing to all the mothers and the fathers, and that more people would come to the Father, because “You have a place.”

The church’s praise and worship team led by brother Shady Sa’ed led a time of praise and worship. They first sang a song entitled, “It has never ever left me” referring to the goodness of the Lord.

Afterwards brother Shady Sa’eed shared a short devotion where he emphasised on the fact that a believer can do everything through Christ who strengthens him and that every person is loved by Christ.

A few of the young girls at the church presented a dance.

Afterwards testimonies from the young people of the church were shown on video. They shared about the Lord’s work in their lives and how the Lord changed their lives from loving the world to loving Christ. They talked about the holiness and freedom that we have in Christ rather than living the prison of the world.  A group of guys also presented a drama that showed how the pleasures of the world can surround a believer from every side  but how Jesus Christ comes afterwards to lift him up from sin and clothe him with a white garment and then puts a crown on his head and embraces him.

In conclusion, pastor Bilal Habibi shared a message from the Word of God. He talked about the work of Christ and His love for everyone. He also encouraged the attendance to look to Christ who has a place for every human being. He also called the attendance to come to the front and receive prayers and  a blessing. After the celebration was finished, the young members of the church offered gifts for all the families who came to the celebration.
