The Nazarene church in Nazareth, whose pastor is Nizar Touma, held a special evening of revival on Saturday 27 July 2013 with the presence of Rev. Dr. Nabil As’ad in David’s hall in Upper Nazareth. Many people from Nazareth attended the meeting as well as from other places in Galilee.
At the beginning, Pastor Nizar Touma welcomed the attendance and prayed a blessing over the meeting. The church’s praise team led the time of praise and worship. They started worshipping with the song: “Let us Greet Jesus the King.”
Rev Nabil – Director of Spiritual Word TV Station- shared a sermon entitled “the power of crying out in distress” He said that God wants to work in the midst of the world despite the increasingly bad circumstances. There is a spiritual warfare in the heavenlies as well as many problems and conflict as portrayed on different TV stations. Pastor Nabil also said that God is sovereign and He is in charge of all things according to His promises. He is able to transform evil to good. It is written that all things work together for Good (Romans8 ) He emphasised that this promise is certain because God is able and faithful to keep His word.
Rev. Nabil also talked about how God worked in the life of Saul and changed its’ direction. From a donkey seller, he led a life full of Glory when he was appointed king on Israel. He also changed the life of Saul of Tarsus from someone who persecuted Christ to a new creature who faced difficulties and tribulations as he started declaring the salvation of the Lord Jesus Christ. He later became known and Apostle to the gentiles.
Rev. Nabil also added that there was a tremendous power of prayer that went forth from the first church in Acts chapter two and verse five. The church was praying fervently to the Lord and as a result Peter’s chains got loosened. Peter was then led outside the prison by an angel. God is the same God who answered the cry of Jonah when he was in the whale. He also emphasised that the life of the strong Christian individual depends on prayer, fasting and reading the Word of God as they are the solution to every problem.
PastorNabil is taking part in the Nazarene’s church conference that started on Sunday and finishes Tuesday in North Gonen Kibutz.
