The ministry of House Of Prayer and Exploits along with the Council of the Evangelical Churches in Israel held a day of prayer on Friday entitled “ A cry from the heart of Nazareth” in the Golden Crown Hotel.
About 600 people gathered from the Arab Christians in Galilee and the Messianic Jews as well as many foreigners who came from more than 15 European, Asian, American and African countries to take part in this significant event.
The M.C for this program was Pastor Andrawos Abu Ghazala who returned to live in Nazareth with his family. He welcomed the attendance and lifted a prayer of blessing.
Ramez Jaraysi, the Mayor of Nazareth, gave a short speech in English about Jesus Christ the Nazarene and about His mother Mary, daughter of Nazareth. He said he was proud that he was living in the city of the Lord Jesus. He emphasised the importance of Christians and Muslims living together in peace and harmony in the land of Christ. He mentioned that there are common traditions and mutual history between the Muslims and Christians, but sadly religion has been used for political purposes in the past century. Despite this, he said that the love and friendship between the citizens of this town overcame the crisis and did not allow the evil plans to prevail. He also pointed out to the importance of the feeling of security between Arab and Jewish citizens so that they can both lead a peaceful life. At the end, he thanked the attendance for choosing to have this event in Nazareth.
Pastor Andrawos then prayed for mayor Jaraysi and asked everyone to ask the blessing of God over his life.
Four people came on stage and blew four trumpets from four directions, seven times. Pastor Andarwos pointd out that it mentions trumpeting is mentions 117 times in the Bible. He said that it represents God’s breath that gives life, especially the silver trumpet that declares the divine truth and it carries a pure and a clear voice to the people. It was used in the OT as a vital instrument in the House of the Lord. It represents the presence of God amongst His people. The sound of the trumpet is the sound that gathers people, organises different aspects of life, warns people in times of war. It is the sound that will wake the church up in the last days. It points to the bride and the people of God. As for the actual act of blowing up, it refers to the Holy Spirit.
The Lord is My Banner praise team from Kfar Yasif led by Nicola Odeh, shared some songs of praise and worship.
People gathered in groups and lifted up prayers, they asked God to pour His spirit on the audience, countries, governments and the nations of the Middle East and that God would guide people according to His will and that Nazareth will help out the weak and marginalized so that it would receive the blessing of the Lord.
Rania Sayegh, director of the Ministry of the House Of Prayer and Exploits shared an encouraging word and prompted the attendance to pray.
A praise team from the church of “the Lord is My Shepherd” from Tel Aviv shared a few songs of praise and worship in Hebrew and English. Everyone was joyful and people even danced!
Pastor David Dimian asked the Arab Christians to come to the front to receive prayer then he asked the Messianic Jews to follow. He asked the foreigners to pray for the blessing of both nations.
