The ancient Byzantine Church was discovered 27 years in the wilderness during tree planting by Shoham for preparing the park for visitors.
The remains of this Church (the Church of Bacchus) that was discovered in 1986 in the wilderness of Shoham, between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, is of an old building dating back to the fifth century A.D. from the Byzantine era and contains remnants of an amazing Mosaic and olive mill.
And archaeological site has been opened now for school activities and family visits today on October 3rd.
