Nazareth, Linga
The 31st Christmas parade in Nazareth started off in on Tuesday afternoon. The parade was organised by the Christmas Parade Association in cooperation with the municipality of Nazareth and the Police.
Ten thousands of people took part in the parade, there were both locals and internationals and people from all Christian denominations as well as Muslims and Jews. There were also many tourists who came from Europe and the United States.
Many Christian institutes such as schools, scouts, children’s evangelism clubs and other organisations, recruited many people to represent them in the parade. There were also many shows and performances all declaring joy and happiness in celebrating the birth of the Lord of Glory , the Baby of the Manger and the Saviour of the World.
The parade started off from the Arab workers neighbourhood , round three o’clock , passing by the Cultural Institute and going through to the main street “ Paul VI” until they eventually arrived at the city centre. The parade finished in the church plaza where all the participating teams met.
Mayer of Nazareth, Mr. Ali Salam and a number of officials welcomed the Latin Bishop Marktso. The many thousands who were present at the parade, all enjoyed the Christmas Carols. There were also welcoming speeches from the religious and political leaders, in addition to the colourful fireworks that amazed everyone especially the children who had beaming smiles all over their faces.
