On Saturday July 2nd, 2011, the Council for the Local Evangelical Churches in the Holy Land held its bi-annual elections in a meeting that gathered the pastors of the Evangelical churches in addition to the leaders of the different Christian organizations in the West Bank.

During the meeting, Rev. Dr. Munir Kakish was unanimously appointed as the president of the Council for the third consecutive term.  Consequently, Reverend Alex Awad offered words of the gratitude shared by the members for Dr. Kakish’s hard work in his previous terms of presidency, and for his faithfulness in serving and representing the Council and commuting back and forth between Ramallah and Bethlehem. 

Additionally, a new administration was elected:  Rev. Johnny Shahwan as vice president, Rev. Bassam Banourah as secretary, Rev. Atallah Essawi as treasurer, and Rev. Jack Sara, Rev. Sami Farah, Brother Essa Abu Edward as members of the new administration.

Rev. Magdi Anwar concluded the meeting in prayer for the new council administration.  We hope that you would unite with us in lifting them up before the Lord to give them wisdom as they lead his people towards the advancement of His kingdom.
