Back to Jerusalem, a ministry aims at Brining the Gospel back to the land of its origin, hosted its fourth annual conference at the YMCA -Three Arches Hotel in West Jerusalem from July 4-6, 2011.  Hundreds of  pastors, Church leaders and believers from around the country, as well as pastors ,church leaders and believers from other countries were in attendance. The main theme of the conference was taken from Psalm 2:8 " Ask me and I will give you the nations as an inheritance", centered on prayer and missions.

The conference was opened with prayer by Pastor Majdi Anwar, followed by words of welcome and greetings by Pastor Munir Kakish, Chariman of the Council of the Evangelical Churches in the Holy Land and Pastor Ehab Ashkar, a board member of Convention of Evangelical Churches Council in Israel, who welcomed the crowed and wished them a blessed conference.

Keynote speakers included Pastor Dikran Salbashian from Amman, Jordan, and Joel Rosenberg, New York Times best-selling author of six novels- and two non-fiction books, with more than two million in print.  Pastor Salbashian gave powerful messages about the importance of connecting prayer with missions while Joel Rosenberg spoke from the book of Joel about the end times and urgency of the hour  in reaching people for Christ before He comes back again.

Praise and worship were led by Pastor Mazen Nasrawi, Pastor Khaled Dalleh, Michael Kakish and his wife Jackie and Pastor Marwan Beem and his wife Rania. The presence of God was very powerful and was strongly felt by all who attended especialy at the special times were spent in intercessory prayer for the lost.

During the second day of the conference, a special afternoon outreach was conducted and focused on street evangelism,  handing out evangelistic material on the main streets and intersections of Jerusalem. Others worked in distributing clothes to the needy and cleaning the streets of several neighborhoods.

For the rest of the upcoming week, local churches will continue with evangelistic outreach throughout the country in cities like Jerualem and the surrounding area, Tel Aviv, Haifa and the surrounding area, Akko and Nazareth and the surrounding area. There will be door to door visits, distrbution of food, distrbution of the JESUS film and other evangelistic litreture in one packet, Kids Games program,  public showing of the docudrama “Damascus Speaks” at Akko Auditoruim in the city of Akko on July 10th at 7 PM, and showing the JESUS film at Sudanese church in Tel Aviv.  Internationl particpants from the US and South Africa will be working along side with the local Churches in the outreach part.

AT the end of the conference, pastor Rajai Samawi, Director of Back to Jerusalem ministry,  thanked all who participated in the conference and said: " All began in Jerusalem, and all will end in Jerusalem, and our prayer is to see the gospel come back to Jerusalem and the rest of the Holy Land and that particpants leave the conference with a new perspective of how they should  view people of this land with compassion because they are sheep without a shepherd. "

The program will officially end with a big celebration on the Mount of Olives on July 13th.
