The New Covenant Church in Haifa hosted the monthly ministers’ breakfast meeting at the church compound on Lafontin Street.
The meeting was opened by a word of prayer from Pastor Albert Saleeba and welcoming words from New Covenant Pastor Yosef Dakwar. He shared about the ministry of the church, a member of the Assembly of God denomination, which joined the Evangelical Convention about a year and half ago.
Dakwar revealed how the ministry began in 2003 and how it currently serves in association with HaCarmel Congregation, led by Pastor David Davis. He shared many testimonies about God’s work through the years leading up to the present and was especially pleased to share about the radio ministry “Eltareeq” (the Way) and its incredible impact on building the kingdom of God and salvation of souls.
Brother Aziz Daeem, Chairman of the Evangelical Convention, thanked the convention members for electing him as chairman. He reminded everyone of their responsibilities in their individual roles as servants in the Kingdom of God as they develop their ministries and strengthen relationships between believers.
Brother Aziz announced 10 committees which will be working to serve the convention and churches, and will be made of 3-5 members:
1. Evangelism Committee
2. Literature and Christian Creativity Committee
3. Communication and Relational Committee
4. Social and Humanitarian Committee
5. Control Committee
6. Recognition Committee
7. Constitution Committee
8. Financial Committee
9. Pastoral Committee
10. Fellowship Committee
Pastor Nabeel Samara announced that the Annual Christmas Meeting will be held 22/12, and asked that everyone help in choosing a suitable venue to hold the gathering.
Brother Rajaei Samawi showed a short clip from the movie Damascus Speaks which portrays the life of the apostle Paul in Damascus, and is a tool to spread the Gospel to the public. The movie was published in Syria by Campus Crusade Ministry and the Pope has publicly endorsed the film.
The meeting ended with a word of prayer by Pastor Hani Sayegh.
