This Saturday, September 5, 2009, the monthly ministers’ meeting was held in the Baptist School Hall with more than 50 attendees. This took place after a two month summer break.
The meeting began with a word of prayer from Rev Dr Hanna Katanacho, followed by lovely fellowship around a traditional breakfast including: Humus, Falafel, Labani, Manakeesh, and many other delicious salads.
After breakfast the attendees listened to Brother Botrous Mansour, General Manager of the Baptist school, who shared about the ministry of the school and ways that churches can support the school in its continuance.
Then Brother Monder Naoum, President of the Evangelical Council, announced further meetings for the council with emphasis on the subject Brother Botrous shared which was included in the strategy plan that the ministers prepared for the upcoming years.
Brother Yonatan Kettab, an attorney from Jerusalem, shared a speech about the concept of recognizing congregations in the Middle East, as compared to the system of freedom of choice in the West. He expounded on the importance of the State of Israel officially recognizing evangelical churches.
After the presentation by Brother Yonatan on this matter, some of the ministers began asking questions and showed great interest in learning more about this subject. Towards the end, ministers and pastors shared announcements about their individual ministries and the meeting was ended with a word of prayer by Brother Jameel Naser.
