It has been a busy fall at Nazareth Evangelical Theological Seminary (NETS)! Many students have returned to continue their studies, new students have enrolled, and fall classes began on Monday, October 3. This semester, NETS is thrilled to have a great group of students and lecturers, and is offering courses in biblical studies, church history, Christian spirituality and pastoral practice/preaching.
There is a lot happening around the seminary this fall in addition to the start of the academic semester! The last week in September, NETS offered two intensive Master’s-level courses in partnership with International Baptist Theological Seminary in Prague. These week-long courses brought together lecturers and students from Israel, Europe, and the United States.
The NETS “Come and See” sabbatical program is underway this month as well. Participants from Great Britain and Switzerland are participating in this month-long program. “Come and See” is a biblically-based sabbatical program that incorporates reading and study, seminars, guided tours and time for personal rest. There will also be opportunities to meet with members of the Arab and Jewish community to hear their stories of faith and life in modern Israel. All of the participants are quite pleased with the program thus far, and NETS is excited to offer another “Come and See” sabbatical program in April 2012.
We at NETS are dually blessed. We are fortunate to have the opportunity to bring solid theological training to our local evangelical leaders. We are also blessed with the chance to share the story of the land and the church in Israel with Christian leaders from other parts of the world.
