On Saturday, 22.10.2011, the first training conference was held to equip lay leaders for service & sharing the Gospel. The conference took place in Nes Ameem in the North.
The attendance reached around 70 people from different Evangelical churches: Rama, Kfar Yassif, Abu Snan, Haifa, Akko, E'belin, Bei'ne, Fassouta, Nazareth and Kfar Kanna.
The conference included different workshops so that the members of the churches will be prepared for sharing the Gospel and bringing more people to know Christ.
Pastor Hani Shurush was the main speaker in this conference. He is Jordanian pastor that served in different Arab countries. Egypt was the country he stayed in the most serving the Lord. He talked about the importance of sharing the Gospel with others and showing them the work of God through the believers' lives.
In addition, many local servants participated in the programs of the conference. Pastor Afif Saba, opened the conference with sharing its purposes with the different programs and activities they were going to do. Pastor Sohail Saed of the New Life Baptist church in Nazareth shared the word of God from the book of Proverbs. Brother Simon Newesry presented both a theoretical and practical training sessions that have put emphasis on the personal experience. Brother Bshara Deeb held a training (workshop) on presenting the Bible. Brother David Grosclose and Meriam Elias helped in organizing the main events in the conference.
The team of worship from the New Life baptist church in Nazareth,led the worship in the conference.
At the end of the conference, a commitment form was given to all the participants. Each brother and sister made a commitment to preach the Gospel and to pray for each person that they had on their praying list on a daily basis.
It is important to mention that this is the first meeting of 6 that will be announced about later on.
