On December 22nd 2011 , hundreds of children participated in the march, 'Children Without Borders,' in Bethlehem for the occasion of the Christmas season.
The march of three Magi riding their camels led by a knight on a fourth horse, bringing with them the frankincense, gold and myrrh ; marched in the streets of Bethlehem heading to the Nativity Church as they were met by the Holy Family represented of people wearing traditional costumes of St. Joseph and Mary with the baby Jesus, where the Magi presented their gifts to baby Jesus the prince of peace.
Upon the arrival to Manger Square ;a celebration for the children was held as they were welcomed by Father Ibrahim Faltas who is the representative of the Custodian of the Holy Land In the Palestinian Authority, who hoped that this march would draw the world's attention to the Palestinian children who want to live in peace, love, justice.
Victor al-Batarsah; Mayor of Bethlehem said that the fest represents love and peace, and that there are millions of Palestinian children celebrating the holiday despite the Israeli apartheid wall, siege and closure; those children still hold the message of hope.
Khulud Daibes the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, representative of the PA president Mahmoud Abbas, said that the President sends his holiday greetings to the children .
Fr. Fasco who is President of the Foundation Franciscan of the Holy Land , expressed his happiness to see the children in this celebration and that he’s so happy for this special day, as it became an annual tradition.
Fr. Fasco promised of more care for the children in Bethlehem and Palestine, and he would continue to support the march “Children without Borders”.
