There is a situation of fear and panic among Coptic doctors in Minya after the kidnapping of three of them with the threat of a number of other unknown by a gang relate to them through threatening to kidnap them in the absence of a ransom ranging from 100 thousand pounds to 120 thousand pounds.

This was the same gang that is located in the mountains of Minya who has kidnapped three doctors before: Dr. Rashad Mukhtar, Dr. Medhat Atallah. Dr.Medhat Al Tahawi. The third doctor mentioned who already had to pay ransom of 100 thousand pounds to avoid kidnapping and threats.

On the other hand, Dr. Hany Kamal Francis (surgery consultant ear, nose and throat) assured that he may link the threat of kidnapping in person which is repeated with.Dr. Sameh Wahba & Hany Youssef Abdel Shahid (Member of the Board in Coptic Orthodox Church in Minya).

Dr. Hany Francis said that all previous threats both Coptic doctors have been issued from one same mobile number. He said, adding that in spite of the doctors who are threatened took action in an official record and informed all concerned, they still live in constant anxiety to the lack of any real action on the ground.
