The "We are all partners" media agency in Syria, said Assad’s loyal forces bombed the church "Al-Zonar", located in the neighborhood of Orchard Court in Homs, which led to the burning of the entrance and the outbreak of fire in the building adjacent to it.

The News agency "We are all partners” mentioned that the Al-Zonar Church is one of the oldest and most Syriac Orthodox churches in Homs. The Al-Zonar was build upon an old historical Church that was discovered in 1953 in which the hidden font girdle of the Virgin Mary of wool embroidered with gold , where there was built a special shrine to it inside the church as the place of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

It was noted also that thousands of tourists from different sects visit the church annually, and that the first church was built by the Inscription Stone, which appeared in 59 AD during the reign of the Prophet Elijah, and it is a miraculous church as what the people of the city of Homs talk about it.
