One day, a farmer came out to a pile of brush that he was going to burn and he noticed that a bird had built a nest to put her eggs. So, the farmer destroyed the nest.

The next day, he returned to find the bird rebuilding the nest. He destroyed it again. Three times he destroyed the nest and finally he burned that pile of brush.

I wonder if that little bird thought, “This is terrible. I don’t know why my nest is being destroyed like this.” But it was a hand of love that was destroying that nest.

Do you know what we do when we murmur and complain? We are murmuring and complaining against the providence of God. You don’t have to understand all that God is doing.

In fact, sometimes you may think that God is cruel to you. We must remember what God’s Word says, “Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Ephesians 5:20).
