Vatican summoned a number of bishops from the Middle East, including Lebanese bishops to discuss the situation of Christians in Syria and Lebanon, after the murder of Father Basil Nassar on Wednesday, January 25 / January 2012 in a village near  Hama in Syria.

The sources said that church expressed worries of the scheme to a large displacement of the Christians of Syria and the region, noting that the Vatican has expressed concerns in more than one occasion over a  repition of this displacement scenario of Iraqi Christians in Syria and Lebanon.
