Kuwaiti MP Osama Almunawer proposal of churches demolition in Kuwait and not allowing building any other houses of worship except mosques caused a controversial tension in the Kuwaiti street.
As many events& political forces rejected the proposal; arguing that the mere promotion of this idea is controversial to the Constitution of Kuwait, which guarantees freedom of religion.
The Vice-President of the Alumni Association, Dr. Bader Daihani, assured that the demolition of churches is totally rejected out as it conflicts with the Kuwaiti constitution, which did not differentiate anytime between citizens, especially the system of government in Kuwait and democratic in accordance with Article VI.
